The Intermediate level is a one-year programme for students who have completed Level 2, or who have previously studied the Madinah Arabic Books and have a grounding equivalent to Level 2. Arabic study moves into formal Nahw (grammar) and Sarf (morphology) through Al-Ajrumiyyah and the Madinah Readers, alongside Al-Arabiyyah Bayna Yadayk for vocabulary and conversational fluency, covering I'rab analysis, word patterns and root extraction, and reading unseen vowelised passages with full comprehension. On the Islamic Studies side, students study the science of Hadith and how chains of narration are classified, the principles of Fiqh (Usul al-Fiqh) and how the four sources of Islamic law are used to derive rulings, and the principles of Tafsir, including classical methodologies for interpreting the Quran.
