Overview
Arabic Language and Islamic Sciences – students will study Mutoon (classical texts) in the primary and secondary sciences, on a traditional method for building a strong basis for further more in depth studies on the mcl portal and directly from scholars.
Course Structure:
- 3 term exams and 1 final exam each academic year
- 3 hours a week
Course Summary & Requirements:
- Duration: 1 year
- Price: £500 per year
- Times: Sundays from 4-7pm
- Students must be over 18 years old
- Minimum 10 students
- This is a mixed class of brothers & sisters (due to small number)
Upon Completion students should be able to:
- Upon completion students should be able to have a strong grasp of the principles of grammar and sarf as well as improved fluency in speaking Arabic. They will also have completed primary islamic sciences as well as partaken in independent and group research and delivered presentations on secondary subjects.
Presentation & Assessment
- Students work on presented topics from selected texts in the secondary sciences. Proposed subjects - Musatalah al-Hadeeth (Bayquuniyyah or Nukhbatul al-Fikr), Usool al-Fiqh (Waraqaat & Usool Min Ilm al-Usool), Usul al-Tafsir ibn Uthaymeen
- Students are expected to be punctual and attend every lesson (unless for authorised absence), be prepared by completing the homework and learning the vocabulary before the lesson. Grading will be based on group presentations, written assignments, termly tests and a final end of year exam.
Who is the course for?
- Students who have completed our diploma or intermediate level Arabic and previous knowledge and study of islamic texts, plus a strong desire for traditional methodology of preservation and transmission of knowledge. (Please note this is an advanced class, do not apply if you don't have the above)

Arabic – Ajrumiyyah, Sarf and conversational Arabic from Bayna Yadayk.
Aqidah & Fiqh – Dalil al-Talib (Hanbali Fiqh Primer), Ha’iyah in Aqidah
Qur’an – Tafsir of Quran (Al-Ashqar, F. AbdurRahim)
Hadeeth – Imam Nawawi 40 Hadith with ibn Rajab’s explanations, Kitab al-’Ilm Sahih Bukhari
